THE CREW
PAST / PRESENT
Born on the streets of Portland, Maine, Gorilla Finger Dub is a dynamic dub and reggae ensemble known for their deep rhythmic grooves, and immersive live performances. Blending classic dub influences with improvisation, the group creates music that is both rooted in tradition and forward-moving in its approach.
What started as Eric Dudevoir (bass/MC)’s spark after hearing Chris Boivin (vocals/guitar) busking downtown grew into a weekly jam session—and then evolved into a full band with Samuel Belanger (drums/vocals), Steve Martin (lead guitar), and Robbie Cooper (keys/melodica) rounding out the crew.
Their sound is built on resonant bass lines, steady drum patterns, melodic guitar layers, and atmospheric keyboards, all shaped to support the voices of singers Chris Boivin and Samuel Belanger, who blend in beautiful harmony. Onstage, the band emphasizes spontaneity and interaction, resulting in shows that feel organic, evolving, and engaging.
Since dropping their debut album Cool It Down in 2011, Gorilla Finger Dub has been hitting the stage to bring people together through the power of music. Their discography includes Live on 4/20, the Sun Tiki Sessions EP, and singles like "No Hate," "Calling To You," "Out of the Sand," as well as their latest EP. Fellow Man EP began its track-by-track release in March of 2026, most recently "Hometown" which dropped on 5/8. For 15 years, they’ve honored their roots with an annual Bob Marley tribute show-often joined by Glen DaCosta of the original Wailers-and shared stages with legends like Steel Pulse, Ziggy Marley, Inner Circle, and Third World.
Gorilla Finger Dub draws inspiration from themes of love, community, nature, and collective energy, giving their music a grounded, thoughtful presence. Their growing reputation has brought them to festivals, clubs, and gatherings where audiences connect with both the groove and the message.
With an expanding catalog and a dedicated following, Gorilla Finger Dub continues to refine their craft, offering a sound that resonates across genres and brings listeners into the heart of contemporary dub culture.
Gorilla Finger Dub isn’t just a band—it’s a vibe. If you’re ready for deep grooves, soulful hooks, and a live show that feels like a reggae-fueled party, you know where to find them.
